Summer is a good time to discover new places and get away from the routine and fast pace of life in cities. If you are one of those who have not yet started your holidays and are looking for different destinations without leaving the peninsula , we offer you five charming towns in Spain . You can visit them during the months of August and September with all the comfort in the world thanks to the products we offer you at Esjoy .
Our journey begins in the town of La Hiruela , located in the Sierra del Rincón, in the northern part of the Community of Madrid . It is one of those towns that make visitors fall in love from the first moment. After arriving at the town via a winding road with a beautiful landscape, you can walk through its streets and appreciate its charming houses of the so-called “black architecture” , composed of slate slabs and oak wood.
Secondly, we suggest the Majorcan town of Pollensa , undoubtedly one of the most beautiful on the island. Walk through the streets of the town with its typical Majorcan-style houses , climb the steps of its famous Calvary, visit the Convent of Santo Domingo and the Church of Santa María dels Angels. We also recommend visiting the area of Puerto Pollensa, which offers a walk among pine trees and views of the bay with magical sunsets .
The third suggestion we make is the beautiful town of Albarracín , located in the southwest of the province of Teruel . It is a beautiful medieval town with a spectacular old town and walls from the Arab period that are worth visiting. Among the monuments you can enjoy are the Cathedral of El Salvador, the church of Santa María, the Episcopal Palace, La Casa de Julianeta, La calle Azagra, the Torre Blanca or the Diocesan Museum.
We couldn't miss a northern destination on our tour. It is the town of Sarria in Lugo , located right on the Camino de Santiago, with a wonderful historic centre and numerous monuments that will surely impress you. The churches of Santiago de Barbadelo, El Salvador and Santa Mariña, the Torre de la Fortaleza, the Convent of A Madalena, the Ponte da Áspera or the Ethnographic Museum of Bread are its main attractions.
We complete our trip through charming villages in the town of Cazorla, Jaén , located in the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park, among beautiful olive groves. The old town contains the Castillo de la Yedra , which has the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs of the Alto Guadalquivir. The Balcón de Zabaleta, the Church of Santa María, the Bóveda del Río Cerezuelo or the original Casa de las Bicicletas are also must-sees if you come to visit this charming town.
Those of us who write this blog also need to take a break and we will not be offering you new content until the end of August . We hope that you continue to enjoy the summer and have Esjoy products on hand to better cope with the heat and have a good diet without having to spend time cooking. Time to relax and disconnect!
