Five hiking routes worth doing in Spain

Cinco rutas de senderismo que merecen la pena en España

If you are one of those who can't miss out on some hiking and mountain excursions in the summer, you are in luck. At Esjoy we offer you five interesting routes that you can visit during these months and which cannot miss our Twenny Bar bars and our Plenny Drink and Plenny Shake shakes :

The Seven Lakes Route of Colomèrs in the Aran Valley (Lleida) has a low-medium difficulty but we can assure you that the natural landscapes you will be able to see will make the effort more than worthwhile.

Located in the Aigues-Tortes Natural Park and with a length of 8 km and a little over 3 hours duration for the short route (there is a long 20 km route for more experienced hikers), on this excursion you can see up to seven spectacular lakes of different shapes and sizes.

The Enchanted Forest Route of Artea and the Cave of the Cristinos (Navarra) , is located in the Sierra de Urbasa and is a circular route of 9.4 km and 4 hours in length with a medium-low difficulty.

The so-called enchanted forest is made up of curious formations where limestone rock mixes with vegetation, offering a landscape of great beauty, while the Cueva de los Cristinos contains stalactites, stalagmites, flows, columns, and inside it stands out the so-called “Lake Room”.

The Guitiriz Water Route (Lugo) is a beautiful linear hiking route of 19.6 km and lasting around 6 hours, which bears this name because it is accompanied by the Parga, Ladroil and Viega rivers.

This is a long, easy walk that allows you to see numerous churches and chapels along its route, as well as enjoy several Romanesque bridges, restored water mills, the Roman mansion of Caranicum, Parga Castle, and the curious mosque of Guitiriz.

The Laguna Grande de Gredos Route (Ávila) is a must for hikers visiting the Sierra de Gredos, due to the great natural beauty and the flora and fauna that can be seen along the route.

Of low difficulty and a distance of 7 km, in just under 3 hours you can complete this beautiful route, which will allow you to enjoy the typical mountain goats, numerous species of birds of prey, and the well-known lagoon.

The Chillar River Aquatic Route (Málaga) is ideal for mitigating the summer heat, as hikers can walk on water surrounded by dense vegetation and rocky areas of great beauty.

This medium-difficulty route is 16 km long (round trip) and will take you about 6-7 hours to complete. You can enjoy refreshing swims in its pools and waterfalls, in an experience full of excitement. However, before doing the route it is essential that you read the advice given on the Nerja Tourism website to avoid problems during the trip.

Finally, we recommend that you take our Twenny Bar bars and our nutritious Plenny Drink and Plenny Shake in your backpacks to tackle the routes, as well as other food to replenish your energy and plenty of water. And of course, a good hat and sun cream to avoid annoying sunburns. Happy summer to everyone!
