Chocolate Waffles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 100 g wholemeal spelt flour
  • 50g Plenny Shake Chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 chia egg* (or 1 tablespoon applesauce or ½ mashed banana)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener of choice (e.g. date/maple syrup)
  • 170 ml of vegetable milk of choice


* For the chia egg, mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

Preparation

  1. Prepare the chia egg.
  2. When the chia egg is ready, combine with the Plenny Shake Chocolate , flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, apple cider vinegar and the sweetener of your choice.
  3. Add a little of your chosen plant milk. The batter should be quite thick.
  4. Let the waffle batter rest while the waffle iron preheats.
  5. Bake according to waffle iron directions.
  6. Serve with toppings such as syrup, fruit, puffed amaranth, coconut chips, etc.
  7. Enjoy it!
