How to make a delicious banana cake

Bizcocho de Plátano / Jimmy Joy

If you are a fan of healthy recipes , in this post we will show you one that you will love. It is the popular banana cake , which can be made without having to be a 'cook' and it will not take you much time.

At Esjoy we have made a small adaptation of the classic recipe for this dessert, adding our Plenny Banana Shake , which will provide you with a greater amount of vitamins and minerals. In addition, you can take advantage of the summer holidays to cook it with the little ones in the house. They will have a lot of fun preparing it!

What ingredients are needed for its preparation?

Grab a pen and paper and write down what you need so that you don't miss anything on the day you make it. We remind you that when baking, it is essential to respect the quantities and instructions that come in the recipe so that everything turns out well.

  • 3 large, very ripe bananas for the dough
  • 1 large, very ripe banana for half the cake
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup of Plenny Banana Shake
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 100 ml of almond milk
  • 10 soft dates, pitted
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon

What steps must be followed for its preparation?

Below, we give you the instructions to make a finger-licking good banana cake.

  1. Add the pitted dates, plant-based milk and 3 bananas to a food processor (or mash everything well with a fork).
  2. Add the Banana Plenny Shake, flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt and mix until you see that the consistency is smooth.
  3. Add the batter to a greased baking tin. Peel your last banana. A nice, long banana works best. Place it in the centre of the tin, right on top of the batter.
  4. Preheat the oven for 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees before placing the mould in it.
  5. Bake everything at 180 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes (times vary depending on the oven).
  6. It is important not to open the oven until the end of cooking, as if the cake experiences sudden changes in temperature, it will collapse.
  7. Another essential tip is to let the cake cool completely before removing it from the oven.
  8. Cut into pieces and serve alone or with nut butter or jam on top.
  9. Time to enjoy it!
