Discover the best music festivals in Spain

Summer is approaching and, in addition to enjoying a wonderful holiday on the beach or in the mountains, there is the option of attending one of the music festivals that take place in Spain.

In this post we have made a summary so that you can know which are the most important ones and the main artists that will perform there. If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, don't forget to pack our delicious Plenny Shake and Plenny Drink in your suitcases ;)

MadCool will take place from 10 to 13 July at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid. This is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals of the year due to the varied list of bands and artists that will be heard. Names such as The Cure, Rosalía, Bon Iver, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, The Chemical Brothers, Vampire Weekend and Noel Gallagher are the headliners for this edition.

Meanwhile, from 11 to 13 July , BBK Live will be held in Bilbao, a festival of reference for rock lovers. Weezer, The Strokes, Liam Gallagher, Rosalía, Thom Yorke, Hot Chip, Vetusta Morla and Second will be the highlights of the event.

Another of the star festivals this summer will take place from 12 to 14 July in Montmeló (Barcelona). It will be the so-called Doctor Music Festival , which will feature musicians and bands such as King Crimson, Underworld, Rosalía, Texas, The Strokes, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Chemical Brothers, Mando Diao and Primal Scream.

If it's electronic music you're after, from July 18 to 20 in Barcelona it will be the turn of Sónar , which is now in its 26th edition. Artists such as Underworld, Disclosure, Arca, Bad Gyal, Vince Staples, Amelie Lens, Skepta, Sevdaliza Four Tet, Hauschka and Fennesz are part of its line-up this year.

Another festival veteran is the Benicassim International Festival (FIB), which will bring together the best of world pop-rock from 18 to 21 July . Established names such as Kings of Leon, Lana del Rey, Fatboy Slim, Franz Ferdinand, Jess Glyne, George Ezra, The 1975, Kodaline and George Ezra will perform at the FIB.

Big fans of independent Spanish music will meet in the town of Alburquerque (Badajoz), on July 19 and 20 at Contempopranea . The names highlighted this edition are Lori Meyers, Izal, Zoé, Dorian, La Habitaciones Roja, La Bien Querida, Los Punsetes, Miranda!, Grises, L Kan , Carolina Durante , Cariño and Capitán Sunrise.

Arenal Sound is another great summer music event, which has been gaining prominence in recent years. In the Castellón town of Burriana , from June 30 to August 4, you can enjoy musicians and groups such as Martin Garrix, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Morat, Fangoria, Don Diablo, Dorian and Beret.

Spanish music also dominates Sonorama Ribera , which from 7 to 11 August will fill the Burgos town of Aranda de Duero with great groups and artists. Love of Lesbian, Zahara, Miss Caffeina, La Orquesta Mondragón, Depedro, Rulo y La Contrabanda, Carlos Sadness, Tequila and Nacho Cano will be the kings of this edition.

Finally, to say goodbye to the summer there will be the Dcode Festival on September 7 in Madrid . In addition to Amaral's only performance at festivals this summer, there are also names such as The Cardigans, EELS, Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Odell, Caravan Palace, La Casa Azul, Miss Caffeina, Viva Suecia and Gerry Cinnamon.
