History
Jimmy Joy founder Joey van Koningsbruggen was annoyed at having to choose between healthy or fast food. So he set out to create healthy fast food. Which then became a mission to create the healthiest food scientifically possible. Starting with interns at Wageningen University and partnering with a large baby food manufacturer, the first recipe was created to be as close to the World Health Organization’s health recommendations. As the company grew, it hired a food technologist, a research analyst and worked with certified dietitians to conduct in-house research to further improve health. However, food is more than just nutritional composition and recent updates focused on taste and sustainability as well. Real fruit was added to improve taste and the highest quality ingredients were sourced to create not only the best in nutrition but also in texture, creating a smooth smoothie experience. By partnering with Trees for All, Jimmy Joy now offsets its CO2 emissions.
Future
Our mission to create the healthiest food possible remains and you can follow it in our Health & Nutrition section. Jimmy Joy is extremely sustainable because it helps reduce food waste by using only what you need and by having a long shelf life. We also offset CO2 (658 metric tons in 2018) but we want to go further by making all our packaging 100% recyclable. We want to delight our customers with more great flavors as well as being the healthiest food possible.
